CNC Machining Apprentice

To operate CNC machinery accurately and efficiently to produce component parts to the required production standards.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Working and operating all machines safely in line with the company’s H&S policy
- Load/unload the machines
- Be able to programme machines
- Be able to set machines
- Be able to operate machines
- Measure components using standard measuring equipment
- Read drawing features that are being manufactured
- React to non-conforming parts that are produced / problem solve
- Change inserts/tooling as and when necessary
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing self and other by working in a safe environment
- Ensure materials are ready and by the machine when setting up a component
- Keep working areas and floors clean and free from oils and swarf
- Keep machines clean
- Report/identify any consumable items that need re-ordering
- Loading/unloading finished components/raw materials as and when required
- Checking goods inwards from external processing
- Part marking
- Packing finished components (bagging)
- Assembly work
- Picking raw material from the warehouse (Unit8)
- To be part of continuous improvement
- Report any problems to the setters
- Progress and work towards objective from your Personal Development Plan
- Complete other duties as assigned from time to time as required by the business
