Entry Requirements
All applicants are individually assessed on their qualifications, skills, and experience. You should have the desire to further your career in the social marketing arena and hold an industry-related level 3 qualification, A Levels or equivalent. Also, applicants should either already be working for a business or willing to gain work experience
Ideally, applicants should also have GCSE maths and English (or equivalent). If the applicant has the necessary experience within professional roles but not the appropriate qualification, then this will be assessed on evidence of work history.

What does the course involve?
This short higher-level programme focusses on:
HTQ Module 1: Networking
This unit provides you with essential overview of computer networking, covering:
- principles,
- protocols,
- standards, and
- security considerations.
It includes hands-on experience with hardware and software for configuring and installing networks. You will learn about LAN and WAN technologies, IP data networks, and basic troubleshooting.
Once completed you will have developed vital skills such as communication, critical thinking, and technical proficiency, preparing you for further studies and employment in IT.
HTQ Module 2: Security
Cyber security is one of the biggest challenges for governments and businesses. Gain a deeper understanding of the threats and challenges and how you could respond.
This unit equips you with an overview of:
- Organisational security,
- Focusing on protecting assets through prevention
- Detection
- Response techniques.
In an ever-evolving IT landscape, you will learn about security risks, business continuity, access authorisation, and regulation, emphasizing the need to stay current to thwart hackers. You will implement security policies, contingency plans, and manage threats and vulnerabilities in both physical and IT security.
Topics include network security design, VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, enhancing skills crucial for employment and academic growth.
The course will be a mix of classroom learning and online work. You will build up the skills and knowledge that will enable you to complete 2 assessments for the units.
