Who is it for?
The AM2S / AM2 is designed for electrical installation apprentices coming towards the end of their apprenticeship framework. By taking the AM2S / AM2 exam you will demonstrate that you have a level of competence expected by the industry.

Entry Requirements
Candidates should possess the basic underpinning knowledge and practical skills in all of the assessment areas specified. The candidate self-assessment check list must be completed prior to undertaking the assessment. It is expected that candidates will be working towards a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation.

What does the course involve?
Composite installation; Inspection & testing of the composite installation; Safe isolation of supplies; Fault diagnosis; Fault rectification; Assessment of applied knowledge.

How is the course assessed?
Sections A, B and C are practical assessments completed under controlled conditions. Section D is an on-line multi-choice exam. All sections are open book and you will have access to all permitted reference material.

Additional Notes
In order to prepare candidates for the AM2S / AM2 we provide a 1 day Refresher Course which candidates undertake prior to their test. Topics include safe isolation, SY, SWA, lighting circuits, testing and fault finding, completing test paperwork (EIC).

Other details
The AM2S / AM2 is seen as the final piece of the jigsaw for apprentices completing their Level 3 NVQ Diploma.
