    Course Specification

    Foundation Degrees are primarily designed for people who are currently employed so that any new ideas can be taken back to the workplace and make an immediate and direct impact on the work you do and your job prospects. Your degree will build upon your work experience and will involve the active involvement of your employer.Graduates from the programme are likely to find employment in the following areas of engineering: Automotive industries; Aviation industries; Consultancy; Electricity generation and transmission; Manufacturing; Nuclear energy and Robotics and control.

  • Entry Requirements

    This course is awarded by Staffordshire University you will need 40 UCAS points. Primarily designed for those in employment but also suitable for Level 3 progressers or those with relevant experience.

    All applicants will be considered on an individual basis. Motivation and commitment will be considered alongside academic qualifications.

    International Students: You will need to have reached a certain standard of speaking English. Please see our ESOL course.

  • How is the course assessed

    Your work will be continually assessed throughout the course. The assessment will depend upon the particular module being studied. Typical assessment methods include assignments, examinations, practical experiments, log books and presentations.   • Additional Notes

    The Foundation Degree is a three year programme. You will be required to attend college for one day per week.The academic year is split into two 12 week semesters.

Level 2 was mostly practical and this year on Level 3 there is a lot of theory and it's preparing me for university. I live outside of Shrewsbury and the transport links to the College are good.
