    Graduates from the programme are likely to find employment in the following areas of engineering: Automotive industries; Aviation industries; Consultancy; Electricity generation and transmission; Manufacturing; Nuclear energy and Robotics and control.

     

  • Entry Requirements

    This course is awarded by Staffordshire University you will need 40 UCAS points. Primarily designed for those in employment but also suitable for Level 3 progressers or those with relevant experience.

    International Students: You will need to have reached a certain standard of speaking English. Please see our ESOL course.

  • What does the course involve

    Specialist Units: Technology Fundamentals; Maths for Technology; Instrumentation & Measurement; Engineering Applications; Thermo-Mechanical Principles; Personal Development.

  • How is the course assessed

    Your work will be continually assessed throughout the course. The assessment will depend upon the particular module being studied. Typical assessment methods include assignments, examinations, practical experiments, log books and presentations. Please refer to the Course Specification for information on assessment for this particular course.

  • Additional Notes

    The HNC is a 18 month programme. You will be required to attend college for one day per week: Day 1 - Wednesday from 9:00am to 6:15pm. The academic year is split into two 12 week semesters. Informal interview required. Complete application form. No concessions.

    The total cost for the course is £5940. (£3960 due September 2018 and £1980 in September 2019).

Level 2 was mostly practical and this year on Level 3 there is a lot of theory and it's preparing me for university. I live outside of Shrewsbury and the transport links to the College are good.
