For anyone who shows a keen interest in any form of welding and fabrication and wishes to either further develop their engineering skills to support an existing job role or as a hobby. This qualification will prepare you for a job in industry or you could progress to a more advanced programme such as the Level 1 City & Guilds Award in Introductory Welding (typically 3268-13 MIG / 3268-12 TIG / 3268-10 MMA).
For basic skills development in practical welding and fabrication programmes, you will be given a base level knowledge of MIG, TIG and MMA welding processes and general metal fabrication techniques. These will comprise:
This is a college-certificated course and will be assessed through observation of practical tasks.
Suitable full-length welding overalls and safety boots are needed.
