For the Level 2 Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy you would be employed to carry out treatments including waxing, manicure, pedicure, facials and make-up activities as well as assisting with spa operations. Job roles include: Junior Beauty Therapist.
There are no formal entry requirements for an apprenticeship, however, you will be expected to complete an initial assessment in maths and English to ensure you are at a suitable level to work towards these qualifications. Please note, employers sometimes stipulate their own entry requirements which would be detailed against their specific vacancy.
There is one main qualification in this apprenticeship, Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy. In addition, you will also study further qualifications in English and maths (if appropriate) as well as Employer Rights & Responsibility and Personal Learning & Thinking Skills.
The theory is taught at college on a day release basis. In addition, you are assessed in your workplace, demonstrating your competency through doing your job. If you need to complete your functional skills, then this will also be covered at college.
The apprenticeship training programme is fully funded for 16 – 18 year olds. For apprentices aged 19 years and over, your employer would be required to contribute towards the training costs.
