For applicants who have a keen interest in nails and wish to pursue beauty therapy training but who are unable to commit to a full time course. Progression and development onto either Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist, Spray Tanning workshop or Certificate in Body Massage.
You need to have an enthusiastic personality with good communication skills along with good personal presentation. You must have a formal discussion with the tutor prior to enrolment, this is to explain the committment to the course content and the attendance that is needed to be able to pass the course. You need to have completed a manicure and pedicure qualification.
The course will involve:-
Provide and maintain nail enhancement; gel, acrylic and fibre glass techniques;
Preparing the work area;
Cleansing & assessment of hands prior to treatment;
Health and Safety;
Anatomy & Physiology;
Client care and communication.
Achievement is through continual assessment in practical and theory. Written assignments and project work help to develop a portfolio of evidence.
It is an expectation of professional practice to wear a uniform whilst in salon sessions. You must purchase a kit to allow you to practice skills out of College. Order forms are available from the tutor during your pre-enrolment discussion.
Nail Treatment Kit £180 approx. and Uniform cost £40.70 approx.
The course involves practical treatment to be done on other learners and members of the general public. Assessment must be carried out on paying clients.
