This qualification is designed for anyone looking to develop their understanding of mental health and the problems that can cause mental ill health.
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above.
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this course. Good numeracy and literacy skills are advantageous.
This qualification aims to broaden learners’ knowledge of mental ill-health and the most commonly diagnosed mental health conditions. Learners will develop an awareness of the signs and symptoms of these conditions and how they may affect people’s day-to-day lives. Learners will also gain an insight into how these conditions can be successfully managed. The course comprises ten mandatory units arranged into four modules:

To pass this qualification, learners are required to complete four formal assessments (one after each module) which are submitted to us for marking
The qualification is currently designated as a target-bearing full Level 2 qualification and is mapped to the Skills for Health National Occupational Standards and the knowledge set for dementia from Skills for Care. Consequently, employers can be assured that staff who complete this programme are meeting industry standards. This course is currently being offered free of charge. If, however, the learner withdraws early without reason, a charge may be incurred to cover the cost of the supplied materials.

The objective of this qualification is to develop the learners understanding of a range of mental-health problems, which could be used to support their role in the workplace, or where they may work or interact with individuals with mental-health problems.
