Who is it for?
For many of us, these are challenging times when it comes to making our money go that bit further. So, this course is designed to look at how we can best manage our money from daily expenditures, monthly commitments, loans and other features of financial life that could make a real impact on household budgets.

Entry Requirements
No entry requirements are necessary. If you are aged 19 or over, live in Shropshire, and don’t have a GCSE in maths (or equivalent), then you would be eligible.

What does the course involve?
This course will include a basic introduction to help you manage your budget including:
- Income and deductions
- Direct debits and standing orders
- Domestic bills and utilities
- Credit and debit cards
- Personal loans and borrowing
- Budgeting
- Savings accounts
- Discounts and sales incentives
- Banks and building societies
- Credit ratings

How is the course assessed?
There are no exams or tests. Our aim is to make sure you are equipped with the skills to better manage your budget so during the sessions your tutor will assess your work and provide feedback. There is also an option to complete additional topics at home online with our tailored software package, but this is not a compulsory element to the course.

How much does it cost?
If you are aged 19 or over, live in Shropshire and don’t have a GCSE in maths (or equivalent) this course is free to you.
