Who is it for?
For any parent or carer who would love to help their child with maths but feels unsure about how to go about it, this course is designed to empower you in supporting your children’s learning, making it easier to help them with their homework.

Entry Requirements
No entry requirements are necessary. If you are aged 19 or over, live in Shropshire, and don’t have a GCSE in maths (or equivalent), then you would be eligible.

What does the course involve?
The course will include an overview of the key maths topics and methods used at primary level:
- Number, place value, addition and subtraction
- Multiplication and division
- Fractions, decimals and percentages
- Properties of shapes
- Measurement
- Ratio and proportion
- Statistics

How is the course assessed?
There are no exams or tests. Our aim is to make sure you are equipped with the knowledge to meet and understand the requirements of the primary maths curriculum so during the sessions your tutor will assess your work and provide feedback. There is also an option to complete additional topics at home online with our tailored software package, but this is not a compulsory element to the course.

How much does it cost?
If you are aged 19 or over, live in Shropshire and don’t have a GCSE in maths (or equivalent) this course is free to you.

What do I do next?
Please enrol online by clicking on the Enrol button above. If you are under 19 or haven’t lived in the UK for the last three years, please contact the college either in person or by phone on 01743 342333 between 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am-4.30pm on Friday to discuss your options further.
You will be required to pay any course fees at the time of enrolment, so please ensure that you have your payment method ready.
