  • Who is it for?

This course is a one year programme for students who have an interest in the Performing Arts and want to find out more. It is an excellent foundation for developing skills in Acting, Dancing and Musical Theatre.

It also offers students not wishing to pursue a career in performance, the opportunity to improve confidence and interpersonal skills in a supportive environment.

  • Entry Requirements

A minimum of two GCSEs at grade 3 or above, preferably including English. You should be able to demonstrate a passion for Performing Arts.

  • What does the course involve?

You will have lots of opportunities to experiment with and perform in a variety of different styles. You will be involved with putting on shows, learning song and dance routines. We also go and see performances and take part in workshops with visiting performers. In addition to performance skills you will look at the practical side of putting a show together and work on costume design and construction. Students will be required to attend four days a week plus performances.

  • How is the course assessed?

Work is assessed through continuous assignments. A number of assignments make a module which is graded so you know how you are doing throughout the course. The majority of the course is practical.

  • How much does it cost?

A contribution towards educational visits may also be requested.
