Who is it for?
This course is aimed at those who hold nationally recognised, gas trade associated qualifications and wish to gain ACS accreditation in Natural Gas Safety. You can then operate as a fully qualified Gas Engineer. Individuals must present evidence to the Assessment Centre prior to the commencement of assessment.
Additionally individuals must present written evidence of 'on-the-job' gas installation and/or maintenance gas work, carried out under direct supervision of competent operatives employed by a “Gas Safe” registered business will be required. The evidence must be in writing from the employer detailing precisely the areas of gas work previously carried out.
What does the course involve?
- Core Gas Safety (CCN1) – initial assessment + 3 appliances + CPA1. This is a 3 day programme, consisting of 3 days practical and theoretical assessment.
- Choose any three appliances from the following:
- CENWAT: Central Heating Boilers + Water Heaters:
- HTR1: Gas Fires & Wall Heaters:
- CKR1: Cookers (not range cookers):
- MET1: Gas Meters:
- CPA1: Gas Analyser:
How is the course assessed?
3 days practical and written assessment in our dedicated Gas Assessment Centre at Shrewsbury College, London Road, Shrewsbury SY2 6PR we are equipped to fully meet the latest Government guidelines and ACS domestic gas requirements.
How much does it cost?
Core Gas Safety (CCN1) – initial assessment + CPA1 (includes ACS registration fee) 3 days £745.00
Additional appliances: Additional appliances from the list above can be added to the Core Gas Safety initial assessment at a cost 1 day £180.00
