The Public Uniformed Services provide a very wide range of career opportunities in the UK. Public Services are popular career choices and so now are selective of the candidates they recruit, especially for those wanting to train as officers, and sometimes request University level qualifications. This Course will suit school leavers with ambitions to join a wide range of services and also offer a stepping stone to progression to a range of University courses eg: Criminology, Psychology, Policing and Sport.
For the Level 3 Extended Diploma (3 A Level equivalent), you will need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4-9 preferably including English and Maths. You must be fully committed, reliable, and punctual and have strong work ethics for this challenging course. You will also be expected to work alongside a wide range of individuals and share ideas and support peers inside and outside the classroom.
For the Level 3 Diploma (2 A Level equivalent) you will need a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4-9 or a Level 2 Diploma qualification at a Merit / Distinction grade. You must be fully committed, reliable, and punctual and have strong work ethics for this challenging course. You will also be expected to work alongside a wide range of individuals and share ideas and support peers inside and outside the classroom.

This course is designed to suit students who are ambitious, dedicated and career focussed individuals. You’ll develop a variety of personal and academic skills which are important for a career in public uniformed services.

A combination of assignments, reports, poster presentations, formal observations, and practical assessments.
After successful completion of the Level 3 course, students have gone on to pursue opportunities in the public forces as well as progress to higher education in various universities around the country to further extend their expertise in this exciting field.
There is a heavy focus on participation, including in physical fitness routines and group activities in the classroom.
The course also includes trips such as overnight work experience with the army, prison service visits, cultural trips linked to the sociological curriculum and various guest speakers.
