    This specialised course offers you the opportunity to undertake work placements for hands on practical experience. This course has a strong practical element to it which ensures that you’ll be ready for a variety of careers in the caring professions.

  • Entry Requirements

    A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language.

  • What does the course involve?

    You will study a combination of human lifespan and development, current research and working in health and social care, disease,
    infection and public health. This subject encompasses psychology, biology, sociology and law and this blend complements A Levels.

    This practical course concentrates on understanding how theory underpins practice, placements in a variety of settings are a valuable component of the course in both years. The subject provides vital preparation for many relevant university courses by providing:

    • Essential skills and knowledge for working in the field of health and social care or those associated with it
    • The ability to investigate ways of empowering individuals who use Health & Social Care services
    • Self-management skills by researching and applying your knowledge and understanding to real-life scenarios
