  • Entry Requirements

    Learners must have completed a Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing prior to completing the Level 2 Award in Kettlebells. This includes courses such as Level 2 Gym or Level 2 Exercise to Music. The following level 2 units must have been achieved prior to the course:
    * Unit 1 - Anatomy and physiology for exercise
    * Unit 2 - Know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity
    * Unit 3 - Health, safety and welfare in a fitness environment
    * Unit 4 - Principles of exercise, fitness and health

    Evidence of these units must be presented prior to starting the course – tutors may be contacted if a candidate is unsure whether they have achieved these units or not. The course requires physical exertion and individual participation is essential; therefore, a degree of physical fitness is necessary. There is also a strong element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at level 2. Experience in leading / participating in exercise classes such as aerobics classes is advised.
  • What does the course involve?

    Learner must achieve passes in each of the following units:
    * Planning a kettlebell session
    * Instructing a kettlebell session

    The course is internally assessed through a portfolio of written evidence and a practical assessment.

    You will need to provide your own sports kit.
