Email from VP A Levels to parents/guardians of Y2 students (4th March 2022)
We have recently contacted your son/daughter about the exam arrangements in the summer. It is a long and slightly complicated message that in essence explains that exams in person are going ahead but that the government has required us to also have a TAG (Teacher Assessed Grade) system in place. This means that there are assessments that will happen over the next few months that ‘could’ be used as evidence if needed.
Within the student email is a table advising them of their subject’s assessment information, eg: days, blocks, times and other information pertaining to the TAG assessments that have been put in place. These assessments do require some timetable adjustments which are detailed also.
A key piece of information is about the Exam contingency date – this is Wednesday 29th June. All students have been told that they must be available until this date, since exam boards reserve the right to move any exam paper at short notice. This is the last date which the boards have specified therefore no holidays should be booked until after 30th June. Results day will be 18th August and we advise students to be available on that date too.
If you have any queries, please contact the relevant subject Programme Leader in the first instance.
