The ‘buzz words’ from the government are ‘Build, Build, Build!’ as Boris Johnson continues his commitment to upgrade Britain’s infrastructure and skills to fuel economic recovery across the UK.
With £483 million from the Condition Improvement Funding being allocated to the upgrading of schools, hospitals and more energy-efficient buildings, there is sustainability in the future growth of the Construction industry, more than ever before. Bearing Boris’ message in mind, here at Shrewsbury Colleges Group, ‘Build, Build, Build’, is exactly what we are doing, so why not join us?
In response to the high demand from building companies needing apprentices, we have expanded our teaching groups for Brickwork and Carpentry & Joinery apprenticeships. Although space is limited for these groups, they are not yet full, so now is a really good time to be considering an apprentice.
Financial Incentives* – extended to January 2022
The government is still offering a grant payment of £3,000* for new apprentices of ANY age. This is in addition to the £1,000 employers already receive for hiring an apprentice aged 16 – 18 years old – there has never been a better time to recruit an apprentice.
In addition to the government grants, CITB financially supports the skills needs of the British construction sector with the CITB Grants Scheme. This equates to £8,500 for apprentices who successfully achieve their apprenticeship.
