Business Solutions, the commercial arm of Shrewsbury Colleges Group, is pleased to assist you in the recruitment of your Apprentices. Whether you have someone in mind or are looking to recruit, we provide a free recruitment service for employers helping to minimize the time and effort spent finding the perfect candidate. Our step by step approach includes:
- Meeting to discuss your requirements as a business:
A member of the Business Solutions team will visit your business, at a time to suit you, and explain what it means to take on an Apprentice as well as your more general business training needs. We will also use this opportunity to make you aware of any grants or incentives that you may be eligible for. If you decide taking on an Apprentice is the right route for your business we will complete a vacancy form with you ensuring you make the most of your vacancy.
- Advertising your vacancy
We will advertise your vacancy across lots of various platforms including the National Apprenticeship Service website, our own College website (covering all three campuses), Internal Student Progression Forums, JobCentrePlus, the Indeed jobs site and our various social media channels.
- Pre-Screening Potential Candidates
We check all applications for your vacancy. All candidates who meet your criteria, will be interviewed by us over the phone before being passed on to you for consideration. We will send your candidates' details to you on a weekly basis whilst your vacancy is ‘live.’
- Following Interviews
At this point, you have hopefully selected an ideal candidate for your organisation and the successful candidate has a start date. We will then invite your chosen applicant in for an induction and initial assessment (College protocol for all students) before embarking on their Apprenticeship.
- Employer Aftercare
You can expect to have regular meetings with the allocated Assessor for your Apprentice to discuss their progress as well as any concerns/areas for improvement. We will continue to keep you updated with regular bulletins detailing any relevant updates relevant to your apprentice as well as any additional services we feel would be relevant for you.
We pride ourselves in building positive relationships with our employers and so, if at any point, you feel you require guidance or would like to discuss any concerns with us, please do not hesitate to call. Otherwise, we carry out six-monthly ‘Courtesy Calls’ to ensure you are happy with the service being provided.
We look forward to working with you!
