Shrewsbury Colleges Group has signed the Shropshire Chamber Mental Health Charter.

Shrewsbury Colleges Group (SCG) has made further commitments to the wellbeing of its staff by signing the Shropshire Chamber Mental Health Charter.

The Shropshire Chamber Mental Health Charter, produced with Merulae Ltd, provides a framework for providing a workplace that is supportive of the mental health and wellbeing of its workforce.

The charter, signed by Principal and Chief Executive of SCG James Staniforth, confirms the colleges promise to promote good mental health among staff. By signing the charter, SCG also recognises its responsibility to ensure it can provide access to mental health support, provide awareness and training and put in place systems to continue to support people in the workplace.

This is in addition to the college achieving the Employer Pledge, a public declaration that is committed to ending mental health stigma and discrimination and introducing Mental Health Champions within the college.

“Signing the Shropshire Chamber Mental Health Charter continues our ongoing commitment to supporting the college workforce,” says Carmen Smith, HR Business Partner at SCG.
