General Update

Following the recent Government update on self-isolation rules for positive cases or being a close contact, the college has updated its’ guidance for students and visitors to the college.

This detailed guide sets out what you should do in different circumstances such as being a ‘close contact’, having a positive LFD test or showing symptoms of COVID.

Face coverings wearing

From the start of term, face coverings are now required in all indoor areas of the campus, including for students when in classrooms and workshop areas. Face coverings do not need to be worn in outside areas or when undertaking strenuous activity. Existing exemptions regarding the use of face coverings continue to apply, as per last term.

Keep testing – and test before you return

In line with Government guidance, you need to do normal twice weekly at home LFT testing. Please ensure that you have a spare pack of tests at home and obtain replacement test packs from receptions at each campus when needed – the college has stocks of these for students and staff.

LFT kit collection points at the following locations;

  • London Road Campus – Student Services & Reception
  • English Bridge Campus – Entrance lobby
  • Welsh Bridge Campus – Reception and Student Services

Ongoing measures

In addition to regular spot cleaning of high touchpoint areas on all campuses, we continue to apply the “Zoono” long-lasting antimicrobial surface protection to minimise the risk of transmission from surfaces.

We also strongly encourage parents, guardians, and other visitors to take an LFD test before entering any of the college campuses.
