Shrewsbury Colleges Group was formed in August 2016 through the merger of Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Shrewsbury College. The college is now Shropshire’s largest provider of post-16 education, teaching 70% of all 16-18 students in the county. The college operates from three campuses, offering academic and vocational excellence, as well as high quality on the job training through its Apprenticeship provision.

The college is the sixth form for eight schools in Shrewsbury and rural Shropshire, as well as attracting large numbers of students from Powys and Telford and Wrekin. The college works in partnership with 300 employers from Shrewsbury, Shropshire and across the region. It is also the largest provider of Higher Education courses in the county, offering degree, foundation degree, HNC/D and higher-level professional courses. In total, Shrewsbury Colleges Group works with around 10,000 students each year.

We offer academic excellence at our English and Welsh Bridge town centre campuses and vocational excellence at our technical and professional centre based at the London Road campus. We can provide the fantastic facilities, teaching and resources for all of our students.

At the core of our success is our commitment to individual students. This means high-quality teaching and close tutorial support. All subjects offer additional one to one and small group support for students who are struggling or who want to push themselves even further. Our excellence programme has been set up to provide additional support for students applying to the top universities.
