The Level 5 Award in Management & Leadership is an exciting first step to gain a range of key management skills and put them into practice within your own role. The course is designed to build on your leadership capabilities by motivating, engaging and managing relationships confidently.
Change is inevitable if an organisation is to maintain competitiveness and currency of practice. This unit has been designed to enable the learner to evaluate types and reasons for change within organisations and be able to select and apply theoretical models for its management.
Ideally, you will have some management responsibilities but no formal training and need to be serious about developing your abilities. It would be beneficial to have good levels of English literacy and use of ICT.
Attendance at the two planned Friday, 9am – 4.30pm sessions will give the content input required to complete the assessment requirements. The purpose is to enable learners to develop the skills to manage change and achieve set objectives, and to do so in a professional manner with open and honest communication throughout the entire process.
Assessment will be through the form of assignments and course work and is over a short period of time. Learners may approach the assessment in a number of ways.
All assessment criteria must be met. The following opportunities are recommendations for guidance purposes only.
Recommended reading lists are available so key text may need to be purchased.
This course is suitable for those within a management role. Places are limited to 12 in the first instance. The course requires a daytime attendance and two tutorial meetings with all assignments submitted by an agreed date.
