If you choose one of our HE Education courses, you will be taught by lecturers who are educated to post-graduate level and have significant teaching experience. They pride themselves on being able to guide you through the exciting challenges you will face when studying a teaching qualification or working towards awards which will help you progress in the Early Years or Education sector.

We offer a part-time Foundation Degree Education and a BA Honours in Education (top up) in partnership with Staffordshire University. This route provides an excellent pathway to becoming a teacher in Early Years, Primary, or the Further Education and Training sector. It also provides a solid foundation for those wanting to undertake managerial roles in the sector in student support, pastoral care, curriculum management etc.

We offer two means of training to become a qualified teacher in the Further Education and Training sector, the University Higher Diploma (for those with a Level 3 qualification) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Further Education or Training (for those with an undergraduate degree, Level 6).

We promote high standards of teaching, learning and assessment, with a strong focus on developing subject-specific professional practice with the support of a mentor. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with peers qualified in a range of subject areas and benefit from learning in our dedicated classrooms with all of the facilities you need. In addition, we have many links to organisations, which offer placements to help you achieve the essential work experience required.

On completing qualifications with us, students can take advantage of a range of progression routes or top-up their qualifications at university. 100% of trainees on our Foundation Degree in Education programme in 2016/17 passed and 72% gained a First or 2.1 degree.
