As a Mill Technician Apprentice you will learn all the skills required to keep a modern animal feed mill running. The work is multi-skilled and require you to learn both electrical and mechanical. Lloyds is a family run business with a great working environment The work is varied and interesting with no two days the same.

• What will the apprentice be doing?

  You will shadow the experienced team members, until you are deemed competent to carryout certain tasks.

  During this time working alongside other technicians you will be given the opportunity to get involved with both electrical and mechanical tasks.

  This could involve working on electrical control gear, programmable logic controllers, single phase circuits, etc.

  As it is a multi-skilled roll, you will learn the mechanical side of maintaining conveyors, elevators, grinders and much more. This will involve changing bearings/gearboxes, fitting new equipment.

  The other skill that will need to mastered is fabrication, making unique parts required to repair equipment or new fits.

  On completion of the apprenticeship, you will be offered a position within the business as a Mill Technician.
