There are several steps, if you apply online for apprenticeship vacancies, at the government's Find an Apprenticeship website and the information below outlines the process.
Confirmation of your apprenticeship application
Once we receive your online application from the Apprenticeship Service, we will check that you have met the employer’s criteria and then contact you to discuss the vacancy in more detail.
Pre-interview with the college
This practice interview is an opportunity to ask us for any advice you may think you need before we put your application forward to the employer.
Interview with the employer
If your apprenticeship application is successful, the employer will offer you an interview directly or ask us to arrange one with you. This will probably be through Microsoft Teams or similar, so you will have had the chance with us first to be prepared.
You've got your apprenticeship!
If the interview is a success, the next stage is to apply to the college by clicking on the button below, selecting the appropriate apprenticeship from the drop-down menu and following the instructions to complete the application form.
If you weren't successful at the interview, we encourage you to ask the employer for feedback, which will help with your next application. You can also talk to us about the interview so we can help too.
I have found my own apprenticeship employer!
A lot of our apprentices have found their own employer - whether it be through family, friends, work trials or contacting employers in their local area to see whether they would be willing to support their apprenticeship. If this is the case, then all that’s left to do is to apply via the button below.
You will be asked to select your chosen apprenticeship from the drop-down menu and provide both your details and those of your employer. Once you've submitted your application we will contact your new employer and discuss the commitment aspect and what the next stages will be. You will also receive confirmation of your application and we will write to you about what will happen next.
