Who is it for?
An introduction for people thinking about a career in electrical installation.

Entry Requirements
Succesful completion of Level 1 Electrical course. English and Maths GCSE at grade 4 or above. Preferably Science and ICT.

What does the course involve?
You will study a combination of practical techniques and theory-based applications and undertake a wide variety of standard electrical installation work.
As well as learning the theory behind electricity and reasons for selecting the right equipment, you will learn a large variety of installation methods and use industrial and commercial techniques within a workshop environment.
We’ll help you to source work placements through a variety of employers.
You will learn about a variety of different wiring systems, such as conduit, tray, and trunking along with various methods of wiring and circuit control and the safety-critical tasks to ensure the safety of yourself and others. You will learn about:

How is the course assessed?
Each unit will be assessed by end of unit multiple-choice online tests, supported with practical assessments throughout the year.

How much does it cost?
Students will be expected to provide their own overalls, safety shoes and contribute to the cost of any additional enrichment activities. If you are aged 19 or over materials fees are payable on enrolment.

Additional Notes
Upon the successful completion of this course, you can progress onto employment or Level 3 Construction and the Built Environment or an apprenticeship.
