I took Health & Social Care because I want to be a primary school teacher. It is an assignment based course, so there is less pressure and you get to do amazing placements for hands-on experience and I went to a primary school. I will be going to study BA Primary Education after College.

I’m the regional district cadet of the year for St John Ambulance and what that means is that I have quite a lot of clinical experience, as well as a lot of skills that I’ve acquired through just talking to people. When my tutor found out about my volunteering, she encouraged me to enter the WorldSkills Show to show my transferrable skills and work on my personal development.

I really enjoyed my placement at The Column Nursery. The staff there were very friendly and approachable. This placement has allowed me to develop my skills with younger children, which I think will help me whilst working towards my future career. I definitely recommend working with The Column Nursery.
