The music industry is worth £4.4bn to the UK economy and currently has over 142,200 people in full-time employment, 67,000 of whom are musicians. We offer Music Technology and Music Performance diplomas, Music A Level, as well as a HNC / HND in Music Production.

We are one of the largest A Level departments of its kind in England and many of our A Level leavers (about 40%) continue to study music or music-related courses. We currently have alumni studying music at the UK's most prestigious Conservatoires (RNCM, BC, RWCMD), Universities (Cambridge, Oxford, Durham), and popular music ‘Institutes’ (BiMMs, ICMP). Many staff continue to be active in the music industry as remix artists, sound editors and producers. Specialist facilities at London Road Campus include three dedicated recording studios and a specialist production suite. The courses are enhanced by regular guest lectures and trips.

HNC in Music Technology

I chose to study at Shrewsbury Colleges Group because of the brilliant resources and teaching. It’s also great doing a HE course closer to home because I am familiar with my surroundings and have all my family and friends nearby. I am aware that there are less women in the music production industry, but I know I have the ability to succeed. I’m excited for females in the music industry because things are changing

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology
Previous school: Oldbury Wells School

I really enjoy music and wanted to go to a college where I could focus solely on that. I have learnt a lot at the College, the teaching is great and lessons are informative. I enjoy the live performances we do and the studios we use are professional and realistic. After College I am going to study a HND Music Performance course.
