Teaching is a highly satisfying and rewarding career where you'll use your knowledge and skills to inspire and educate the next generation and the variety of your job means that you'll gain plenty of transferrable skills in return. Teaching has many opportunities for personal and professional development, as well as the option to progress to management roles. Teaching provides great job security and other benefits such as a competitive salary, generous holiday allowance and a pension.

Our programmes include the Award and Certificate in Teaching which are ideal if you are interested in training or teaching adults and do not require a placement.

Our Level 3 Pearson BTEC Award in Education & Training is a great entry course for those who are not currently involved in teaching or have just started a teaching/training role and are interested in teaching or training within the further education sector (Post 16). This qualification allows progression onto the PGCE in Further Education at Level 5 or 7.

The PGCE in Further Education & Training, delivered part-time, provides a fantastic opportunity to formally train to teach adults in further education and training and access placements locally.

If Early Years or primary teaching appeals to you, our part-time Foundation Degree in Education and top-up BA (Hons) in Education (accredited by Staffordshire University) can provide an excellent route into this.

PGCE

I decided to do the PGCE, partly because my employer wanted me to and partly to increase my skills and qualifications. Teaching is a way of giving something back and sharing my knowledge with the next generation.
