Travel disruption 20 October 2023 1pm update

The college is advising students to consider their journey travelling to and from college and to only do so if safe. 

The latest update as at 1pm is as follows:

The college has been made aware of several issues with the local transport network due to the weather conditions. To date, we are aware that the following issues:

• Diversion on X10/X10a/X7 between Telford and Shrewsbury but the service is running
  
  
• X75 Shrewsbury to Welshpool and Newtown and surrounding areas has been cancelled until further notice
  
  
• Currently, the following roads are closed due to flooding:
  • A4117 from Cleobury Mortimer to Ludlow
  • A458 at Much Wenlock
    
    
• College bus services have the following amended leaving times:
  • Powys Bus Service
    • • This service has already left – please contact Student Services if you usually use this service
  • Bridgnorth Bus Service
    • • 1.15pm Abbey Foregate
      • 1.20pm London Road Campus
  • Ludlow Bus Service
    • • 1.30pm – Abbey Foregate
      • 1.35pm – London Road Campus
  • Lakeside Coaches service
    • • 2.30pm Oswestry
      • 2.30pm Telford x2
      • 2.30pm Whitchurch
        
        
• Trains between Shrewsbury and Telford are experiencing severe disruption – alternative travel arrangements need to be made
  
  
• Transport for Wales trains are experiencing severe disruption but the trains between Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth are running – please check TfW website for further details on other routes

We will contact students who are directly affected by the transport issue and advise accordingly.

The college will continue to provide updates on any issues within the travel network as we are informed. 

We will update parents and carers via the college’s social media channels at 2pm.
