Exam results communications to SCG students
A Level results and vocational Level 3 course results will be released on Thursday 15 August 2024, and we will be using two methods to communicate these to students.
Please note that the results are available from 8am on Thursday 15 August 2024.
The college will email student results to their college email address on Thursday 15 August 2024 from 8am. Please ensure that they have access to their college email.
If students no longer have access to their college email address, then please visit the Student Area of this website to regain access.
In addition, we will be informing students of their exam results via the MySCG app. The results will be their result only and will not be visible to anyone else. The results will be available from 8am on Thursday 15 August 2024.
If students don’t have the app on their phone, then they can access their account remotely or come to the Welsh Bridge Campus and access the results via the MySCG platform on any of the college’s networked computers by logging into their account.
Accessing your results on MySCG
Exam results will be available within the MySCG app. Please follow the instructions below:
- Log into MySCG via the phone app or college computer
- Look for the My Info tile and click on it
- Look for the option for exam results and click on this
- Your exam results will be visible here.

Any students who will be overseas on Thursday 15 August 2024 will need to complete this form and we will email their results to a personal email address.
Please complete the form by 4pm (UK time) on Monday 12 August 2024.
Results Day Arrangements
Further details of the support available from the college on results day can be found here:
Post result options
After students receive their results, it may be appropriate to request a remark or to see their exam paper. This is a ‘Post Result Service’ and many of the services are very time-critical and carry a cost which can now be paid online.
Confirmation of your address
At the end of November, we will be sending out students’ certificates to them and we wanted to check that the address that we hold for the student is correct. If you have moved house during your time at college, then please inform us by Monday 25 November 2024 of your new address.
We would like to wish all of our students every success with their results and their future.

Summer Exams Contingency Day
The awarding bodies have collectively agreed on some contingency dates which could be used in the event of a national or significant local disruption to exams in the United Kingdom. This means that the exam boards could choose to move the date of any exam at short notice so you need to be aware of the final contingency date for this year which will be confirmed once exam boards have advised us. The contingency date is 26/06/2024.
Please consider this date when making any plans for the summer. Candidates must remain available until this date should examinations need to be rescheduled to complete all the required assessments.
Summer Examinations Resits
If you left college in the summer of 2023 there is a process that you should follow should you wish to apply to resit any examinations in the Summer 2024 session. Note that there is not an Autumn 2023 resit opportunity.
We are only able to accept resit applications from ex-students of Shrewsbury Colleges Group. Any resit is conditional upon permission from the subject Programme Leader and subject to an interview with the Vice Principal A Levels. There is also a non-refundable charge that will be payable to the college.
Fill in the Exam Resit Application
You will be invited to a meeting with a senior member of staff to agree on how you will engage with the college to maximise your chances of an improved grade. This may include attending some lessons, subject support sessions or another agreed approach
Informing us of a name change
We accept changes to a legal name either via a Student Change of Circumstances Form completed at campus receptions or by emailing your Personal Tutor with a copy of your deed poll. The new name will be updated in our student records system and our exams team notified for the purpose of exam certificates.
New badges can then be reprinted for students.
Exam certificates are legal documents and the name that appears on a certificate is the student’s legal name at the time the certificate is issued. The college will endeavour to notify awarding bodies of a student’s name change before certificates are issued. If certificates are issued with the birth name the student will need to pay to have the certificates changed via the individual awarding bodies.
Certificates will be issued in late October / early November so please notify the college of any change of address.
