Students of all ages learn on our Numeracy & Literacy courses. We offer a range of courses to help you develop the skills you need for work, even if you’ve been out of education for a while. They can also help prepare you for other courses.

Level 2 Diploma in Public Services
I had to retake my Maths and English GCSEs at Shrewsbury Colleges Group. I studied each of them once a week and the teachers were really good. Previously I had struggled with equations, but some focused teaching soon helped me get my head around them. They are small classes so you get plenty of attention to help you progress. I came away with a grade 4 in both GCSEs which will allow me to progress onto the Level 3.

After College I would like to join the Marines and I need my Maths and English GCSE to do that. I have retaken both with Shrewsbury Colleges Group and got a 4 in Maths last year and I’m predicted to get a 4 in English this year. I used to really struggle with equations, but once it was properly explained in class, I gained more understanding.
