What does the course involve?
For basic skills development in practical machining metal, you will be given a base level knowledge of milling, turning and hand fitting processes in the engineering workshop. Producing components using hand fitting techniques; Preparing and using lathes for turning operations; Preparing and using milling machines and Working safely in an engineering environment.

How is the course assessed?
This is a college certificated course and will be assessed through observation of practical tasks.

If you are under 19 or haven’t lived in the UK for the last three years, please contact the college either in person or by phone on 01743 342333 between 9.00am-5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am-4.30pm on Friday to discuss your options further.
