Open Evenings allow you to see our facilities and chat to teachers, whilst Taster Events give you a feel for the courses we offer and an idea of what College life is like.
We support you in ensuring that your next step after SCG fits in with your ambitions, whether it’s university, an Apprenticeship or securing employment in your chosen field.
Our students are more likely to gain top degrees than students from any other sixth form college or independent school. This year 16 of our students were offered places at the prestigious Oxford and Cambridge Universities - a record for the College.
We were the only college to have two apprentices winning gold at WorldSkills UK, the largest multi-trade competition in the UK. Winning gold gives entrants the honour of going to the WorldSkills final in Russia as part of Team UK.
Whether you are interested in studying A Levels, a vocational course, or earning whilst you learn through an Apprenticeship, we offer opportunities for you to excel.
Take a look at some of our forthcoming events. Details are included within each event, but if you require further information, please ring 01743 342 342 or use our contact form.
A Level Chemistry (Biology, Mathematics, Further Mathmatics)
Previous Institution: Corbet School
The College has a brilliant reputation and creates a lot of future Russell Group students. Having the opportunity to take part in the Royal Chemistry Society’s Schools’ Analyst Competition was a useful experience and the support systemat College is great - you can email your teachers whenever you need their help. I would like to study Biochemistry in 2020, so I will spend my next year improving my knowledge through work experience and researching the best suited university for my needs.
Picking a course is one thing, but what about the bigger picture? Find out how much you could earn in your dream career and what you need to do to get there.
Level 1 Electrical
Previous school: Sir John Talbot's School
Electrical Installation gets you ready for the work environment. It is totally different to school, which is what I wanted for my further education and the teachers treat you with respect. They let you know when you’re doing well and they’ll put you right if you’re going wrong.

Level 3 Sports
Previous school: Overseas school
I wanted to do a sports focused course, but still look at a wide variety of sports – which is what you get at SCG, and I prefer continuous assessment rather than exams. The tutors are also really down to earth. I am part of the College Netball team and it is a great mix of students from all three campuses. I am going to Gloucester University to study Sports Therapy.
