Students from Shrewsbury Colleges Group have been working hard on their performances for their annual Christmas Concert, which is open to the public.

The students, who study at the English and Welsh Bridge Campuses, are putting on their festive concert in the Wakeman Hall on 18 December at 7.30pm to family, friends and members of the public.

Big Band Practise small

There will be a wide variety of acts taking part in the concert, including the College Concert Band, Jazz Band, String Orchestra and Choir. A diverse programme of music ranging from Tchiakovsky to Glenn Miller will be played, including a selection from the musical, Chicago. Students have been working hard and creating some of the performances by themselves. Finally, not forgetting, the much-loved return of the bottle band!

Chris Lewis, Music Teacher, said: “We’re really looking forward to the Christmas Concert.  The students have been working hard all term and are ready to treat their audience to an evening of festive favourites and other well-known repertoire.  Whether you like rock, classical, musical theatre or if you just like to hear people trying to recreate a Christmas hit using half-empty bottles, then there’s something for you. I can't think of a better way to round off the term - I'd get your tickets before they're sold out!”
