What was the best part of your course at Shrewsbury College HE?

The best part of the course was definitely the teachers (especially Donna). They were so supportive and always made the time to help, whether it was with homework or just building confidence for a future career in accounting.

What would your longer term goal or career aspiration be?

Become fully qualified and open my own practice.

What advice would you give to new students about deciding to enrol on your course?

Don’t leave revision to last minute and don’t worry if you don’t understand something straight away, keep practicing and you will get it.

Studying Accounting at Shrewsbury College was a key step in building my career. The course combined solid theory with practical skills, giving me the confidence to move forward in the accounting industry.

Being able to challenge myself and to benefit from Helen's wonderful teaching. I've enjoyed sharing ideas and resources, as well as collaborating with my fellow students.

What is your immediate plan after completing your qualification?

Rest! Then to do further research into flipped and blended learning.

What advice would you give to new students about deciding to enrol on your course?

It goes by quicker than you think, be prepared to read lots!

What is your immediate plan after completing your qualification?

Already teaching in Creative Media at London Road.

What was the best part of your course at Shrewsbury College HE?

The opportunity to undertake a research project under the supervision of a very knowledgable and supportive teacher.

What advice would you give to new students about deciding to enrol on your course?

This is a course that is highly relevant for anybody working in the field of eduction. It will broaden your understanding about the fundamentals of teaching, and how government policy decisions have transformed young people's education over time.

The teaching was really supportive, and the small group created a welcoming, close-knit community that made learning an enjoyable experience.

The supportive staff, friendly culture, sensible sized groups and inspiring teachers who wanted you to be the best version of yourself personally and professionally.

What is your immediate plan after completing your qualification?

Continuing to teach in the Early Years and Education department after successfully gaining a teaching position last academic year (PGCE year 1).

What advice would you give to new students about deciding to enrol on your course?

The course fitted perfectly around work and home life which was really important for me with two young children. If you are committed to improving yourself and your future career path, this is the perfect course. You will grow, develop and learn so much from teachers and peers from a range of sectors!

Studying Higher Education at Shrewsbury College was a transformative journey - supportive tutors, hands-on learning, and a close-knit community gave me the confidence and skills to thrive in my career.

Learning how to use CAD!

What would your longer term goal or career aspiration be?

For My brother and I to be directors of the family company. We both studied the same course here.

Be punctual and work hard, no matter what course you do.
