A Level and vocational students from Shrewsbury Colleges Group have put on their combined end-of-year Art and Design show for the second time since the College’s merger.

The English Bridge campus of SCG has been taken over and filled with inspiring student work. Over ten different creative courses have displayed their work for The Show 2019. The rooms are filled with drawings, photographs, paintings, videos, designs, textiles and so much more.

The show commenced with the private view on the evening of Friday June 14. Also the vocational Fashion and Textiles students turned the sports hall into Shrewsbury’s very own catwalk – with a decorative transformation that wouldn’t of looked out of place at London Fashion Week.

This integration of A Level and vocational arts provision is one of the exciting results from the merger between Shrewsbury Sixth Form College and Shrewsbury College. Shrewsbury Colleges Group have set out to create a Centre of Excellence for the Creative Arts & Design and this has proved very successful culminating in a brilliant end-of-year exhibition. Visitors of the private viewing on Friday commented: “Really impressed by the high quality of the pieces exhibited - very talented students!! Inspiring!"

Helen Morgan, Curriculum Leader of Art & Design said: “We are very excited to once again be presenting this fantastic exhibition to showcase our student’s creative talents. The exhibition is like no other in Shropshire, we have over 600 students taking part in this extraordinary display of creative work. Every year is different and this year’s exhibition promises not to disappoint.”

The show will be open to the public until Friday June 21, 9am to 4pm at our English Bridge Campus in Abbey Foregate. It is a free event, but you will need to sign in at reception on arrival. To find out more information call 01743 235491
