Shrewsbury Colleges Group (SCG) is holding an event to help young people achieve their future careers.

The virtual Careers Live Event, aimed at young people in school and college aged 13-18 in Shropshire, Telford and Wales, will showcase the range of exciting careers available across various sectors.

The free events will be packed full of advice and guidance, career ideas and relevant training advice.
Attendees will be able to visit a virtual exhibition hall with stands from local and national employers, universities and training providers.

Alongside this will run a series of live talks from leading professionals working in the sector talking about career ideas and what it’s like to work in that sector, as well as live Q&A session with a team of career advice experts.

Those who can’t make the live events can catch up with the talks and access all the resources on-demand at a later date.

The next upcoming event 'Professional Services' will take place 20 April from 6-7pm.

Participants are asked to sign up to the events at shrews.co/careerslive and they will be kept up to date with information about the upcoming series which includes engineering, professional services, land, food & agriculture, creative industries and many more.

They will also be able to gain access to the virtual exhibition hall to start exploring stands from local and national employers, universities and training providers.

The dedicated Advice & Guidance Zone is also open for or fun and interactive help on finding your way into a career.

Mike Needham, Director - Communications Admissions & Marketing at SCG, said: “This will be an exciting event covering information about careers, job roles and the relevant training required to achieve future destinations, as well as CV writing, job application and UCAS statement workshops.

“By attending these free events you can see and hear about the extremely diverse range of opportunities in a whole range of sectors and how you can achieve your career goals.
“Staff from the College and a range of industry exhibitors will be on hand to discuss routes into the many job roles, including work experience and Apprenticeships."


Once you have registered for the event, we will then keep you up to date with the below programme of Live Talks with employers and industry experts, which will each specialise in specific sectors such as engineering, professional services and many more.
