Shrewsbury Colleges Group (SCG) students were treated during their last week on campus with a programme packed full of activities.

Over 50 assorted activities took place on campus and at various venues across the county, including LovetoStay and walks around Haugmond Abbey.

Activities included active events such as Zorb Football with West Midlands Bubble Football, Paintballing, Yoga, Assault Courses, Axe Throwing with TimberJacks and Swimming. There were also skill-based activities such as pottery, singing, photography and animation workshops.

Students also took part in Shrewsbury Colleges Group’s Equality & Diversity Week virtual and in person events. Talks were held by New Generation Coaching’s Ben Butler, A Race for Justice’s Katie Lansborough, SCG Student Pride and Friendship groups, and previous students of the college.

Topics included key issues around ethnicity and racism in education in the UK, Allyship and what it means, Holocaust Memorial Day, and the impact of racism in the local area.

Students were also able to access a wide range of recourses around these topics and more via Augmented Reality in the Learning Resource Centres.
