SCG would like to say congratulations to our Travel & Tourism students Abi Ringer and Josh Jones who have completed their training with Jet2 as air cabin crew.

Both students undertook a four-week training period at Birmingham airport, followed by a full day’s assessment to ensure they were ready to gain their wings.

At the weekend, Abi and Josh took to the skies for the first time, going to Fuerteventura and Budapest, respectively.

They will return to the college in May to complete their studies, between flying, and are predicted to achieve distinctions.

The Travel & Tourism staff at Shrewsbury Colleges Group work extremely hard to prepare students for their training and assessment periods, with particular care placed on the interview process.

As part of the course, students are equipped with the skills to answer questions about their strengths, experience with customers, and how to use real examples from their part time jobs and college to show-off their knowledge and skills.

Mock interviews are conducted to ensure that students become familiarised with the formal environment, and are taught to ask incisive questions following their own research about the company.

This is just one of the exceptional opportunities available to those who study Travel and Tourism with the college. If you are interested in finding out more about the course, then please click the following link: Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism (scg.ac.uk)
