Twenty-one Shrewsbury Colleges Group students completed their exchange visit with a trip to the Champagne region of North-Eastern France.

In the first leg of the trip, we welcomed our French counterparts to the beautiful county of Shropshire. During this time, they got to visit the historic city of Liverpool, the scenic town of Ironbridge, and the Cosford aviation museum.

Three weeks later, it was time for the return leg, and after a fourteen-hour coach journey the students were warmly welcomed. Over the course of the week, students visited the cathedral city of Rheims, the First World War battlefield memorial site at Verdun, and of course, Paris. The stop off in Paris included an ascent of the Eiffel Tower and a relaxing boat cruise down the river Seine.

This was an excellent opportunity to improve both competence and confidence in speaking colloquial French, as well as deepening understanding of the French way of life. The whole project was made easier thanks to the generous assistance of the Radbrook Foundation as well as the exemplary conduct of participating SCG students. We look forward to similar success next year.
