HE computing student engaging with teacher

An update on the processes that SCG are following between now and Christmas to review and communicate student progress as well as set academic targets for the rest of the term.

Progress Review Grades/ follow up

The first set of Progress Review grades of the academic year will be available from Monday 14 November. An explanation of what is meant by these grades as well as details on how to access ProPortal as a parent can be found on the progress monitoring webpage

Following the publishing of the Progress review grades, students will also be meeting 1:1 with their Student Support Tutor (either face-to-face or remotely) in order to review progress across their entire programme and set targets for maintaining or improving their current grades.

Consultation Events

In order to give you an opportunity to discuss progress with teachers we have arranged two online Consultation Events. These events are taking place on Thursday 17 and Tuesday 22 November between 5.00pm and 8.00pm using an online meeting facility – MS Teams.

Staff will offer 5-minute appointments which will be booked by your son/daughter using their COLLEGE EMAIL ACCOUNT. We will advise them to make appointments at least 20 minutes apart, to give time between appointments. Staff will call the student account via MS Teams at the time agreed. Students are welcome to take part in the discussions alongside parents, though this isn’t compulsory.

If staff are unable to provide you with an appointment at the times of these events, you will be offered an alternative form of communication. If you are not able to access MS Teams via computer or mobile phone, then students can speak with their teacher to arrange communication via phone or email.
Students can start to make appointments from Monday 7 November.
