Shrewsbury Motor Vehicle student’s at induction day

On Friday 8 September, students of the motor vehicle, construction, and Engineering courses along with other related courses at Shrewsbury Colleges Group were treated to some special guests to help with their introduction to their courses.

Throughout the day, groups of students from the college spent time with different specialist suppliers to get the latest knowledge and techniques involved in their trade.

Several organisations attended and gave live demos of their specialist equipment to showcase the different aspects of the respective trades.

Staff from Hella Gutmann were on hand to demonstrate the latest approaches in workshop diagnostics. Also on hand were the team from Delphi who were giving demonstrations on their diagnostic equipment alongside their braking systems.

Students were also able to see the latest fantastic development in automated robotic welding tools from Migatronic.

Another big draw for students was the race team from the British Touring Car Championship Hyundai team with their i30N Touring Car. Alongside the Touring Car, students were also able to find out about Motorsport finance from the representative from WSC Finance.

Students were also able to view the range of tools available to them for their courses through the suppliers G E Welding, RMT Garage Equipment, DeWalt, Draper Tools, and Milwaukee.
