Tumble out of bed and stumble to Theatre Severn to watch Shrewsbury Colleges Group student’s phenomenal 9 to 5 musical.

Following on from the successful Made in Dagenham, Footloose and Back to the 80s at Theatre Severn, Performing Arts students from London Road Campus will be hitting the stage again with 9 to 5 the Musical.

Seven Shrewsbury Colleges Group students have been offered places to study at the prestigious Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

The students, who hail from all across the county, are currently studying A Levels at the colleges’ English Bridge and Welsh Bridge Campuses and will take their exams this summer before heading off to study at Oxford or Cambridge.

Shrewsbury Colleges Group students will dazzle audiences for three nights as they perform the ELECTRIFYIN’ musical, Grease.

Students from all three campuses are members of MaDA, Shrewsbury Colleges Group’s enrichment program for Music and Dramatic Arts. They have been working hard at rehearsals to get ready for their performance in Wakeman Hall next week. The famous musical, which is narrated using the songs we all know and love, will be performed from March 27 to 29 (Weds to Fri).

Every year, A Level students from Shrewsbury Colleges Group take part in the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Individual Senior Maths Challenge.

Engineering apprentices bring home WorldSkills medals after designing and building an electric wheelchair from scratch.

A team of Ricoh Engineering apprentices competed in the WorldSkills UK National finals that took place at Birmingham NEC. The team of three took part in the ‘Manufacturing Team Challenge’ and had to build an electric wheelchair that they had designed and tested in their spare time.

An international artist representation agency approached Shrewsbury Colleges Group to get photography-enthused students involved in their IShrewsbury project.

Tea & Water Pictures, based in London and New York, asked students to use photography to tell a story of somebody who lives or works in Shrewsbury. The winning student will have their photographs and story published in the first edition of the I♥Shrewsbury magazine and will also get the chance to spend the day with Jørn Tomter, an experienced and professional photographer.

Hospitality and Catering students from Shrewsbury Colleges Group’s London Road Campus smashed it at the North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College Salon Cullinaire last month bringing home 40 accolades.

Department for Education (DfE) 2018 Performance Tables published last week confirmed Shrewsbury Colleges Group students make outstanding progress at A Level.

 The recently published DfE Performance Tables show the results of sixth-form students in independent schools, grammar schools, 11-16 schools and colleges.
