Open Evenings
These happen in the Autumn and Spring terms and are primarily aimed at Year 11s / school leavers and provide an opportunity to visit our three campuses, see our facilities and chat with teachers and current students about what our courses involve and what student life is like. College support staff are on hand for advice on careers, transport and finance and there are presentations from the principal.
Classrooms and workshops have demonstrations and you’ll be able to visit other areas including our learning resource centres, social spaces and cafes. We also offer a virtual Open Event that's available to explore 24/7.
Places on Open Evenings need to be pre-booked so we can manage numbers, provide a quick check-in and give you the best experience possible.
Post 16 Options Roadshows
Now in its seventh year, Post 16 Options Roadshows are free and impartial information events for pupils leaving Year 11 for sixth form, further education or apprenticeships. These online and in-person mini expos take place in September/October each year and bring together the main providers of post 16 education in our area. The online event remains open all year for you to explore and watch the presentations on-demand.
Each institution has a stand with course information and staff available to speak to regarding your particular interests. In addition, there will be information from the Principal of Shrewsbury Colleges Group spotlighting how different qualifications work and allow you to progress to university and employment.

Advice Events
Advice Events are an opportunity for school leavers and adult returners to speak to our tutors and support teams about studying A Levels, Vocational full-time and part-time courses, Higher Education courses and Apprenticeships at Shrewsbury Colleges Group.
Whether you want to improve your career prospects, gain promotion, find a hobby or improve your practical skills, we will have a course for you.
Taster Events
We offer such a wide range of post 16 courses, it can be hard to narrow down your choices to three/four A Levels or one Vocational subject, lots of which will be brand new to you and not studied at school.
That's why in the Autumn term we hold Taster Saturdays and throughout the year offer Virtual Tasters, which are a great opportunity to get a better feel for the courses we offer and which ones you may want to apply for. The on-site events also provide you with an idea of what College life is like and how the campuses work.
