Who is it for?
This course is for those who are interested in exploring their creative skills and understanding of the fundamental aspects of Art. It will help participants find a starting point, gain confidence, and explore their creative style. Each session will focus on a different introductory skill and be documented in a sketchpad. Documenting work in a sketchpad will provide the opportunity to document their progress and develop their skills outside of the workshop if they wish.
-
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, this course is for anyone wanting to explore creative processes and has an interest in art & design.
-
What does the course involve?
During the course you will use the professional art studios to explore a range of art techniques such as colour mixing and theory, exploring line through mark making, composition, pattern, scale, perspective and collage to create individual compositions. All techniques are accessible to beginners and intermediate. All techniques will be documented in your sketchpad (which we will make together) giving you the confidence to develop these skills outside of the studio and create your own projects. Each technique covers a fundamental aspect of Art and is a great springboard to Art appreciation and theory.
-
How is the course assessed?
Due to the nature of the course, there will be no official assessment but there will be time and scope to encourage participants creativity and practical skill.
