The college has released some information for students who will be enrolling to the college this summer.
Applicant Students
Over the summer, applicant students will receive an invitation in the post which details an appointment time and location to meet our team in person. This way, you can have a face-to-face discussion, practice coming into the College and receive guidance through the enrolment process
Please take time to read the information within this letter and please note enrolment for all academic and vocational courses will take place at our London Road Campus. Address details are provided later in this new item.
GCSE results day is Thursday 24 August 2023. Members of the college Admissions Team are available if you would like to talk about your results. If you would like to speak to a member of the Admissions Team in person about your results, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. Whatever your results, you should still attend the enrolment appointment where we will discuss the right course for you.
If you cannot attend the appointment which is detailed in the letter, please call 01743 342342 to arrange an alternative day and time.
What will happen at the enrolment appointment?
- We will check your GCSE results to confirm they meet the entry requirements for the course(s) for which you have been offered a place
- We will agree your study programme with you and enrol you on the specific course(s)
- We will create your student photo ID card
- You can talk to Student Services about finance, travel, Additional Learning Support and Wellbeing
- Find out about enrichment, work experience, volunteering, team sports and activities
- Find out how to access ‘MySCG’ to get timetable information
You can expect to be at college for approximately 1 hour. We will not be providing any drinks so please bring a bottle of water with you.
You can attend alone or bring a maximum of two parents/carers with you.
What you need to bring with you:
- GCSE results – you cannot enrol without these
- Next of kin email address and telephone number (please make sure these are accurate)
- Medical information as relevant
- Proof of identity – passport, driving licence, bank card, ID card
- Voluntary contribution payment of £40 for a one-year course, and £80 for a two-year course. Please see the information below for details of this payment
- £38 fee for car park pass for students based at London Road only if you plan to drive to college each day
- Required DBS evidence if you are studying a Childcare or Health & Social Care course (details enclosed in this letter if relevant)
Attending Enrolment
We want your enrolment to be an enjoyable experience for you, we are delighted to be able to invite you to come on-site and meet staff as you enrol. We understand you might be nervous about the new stage in your education, please be assured we do understand and will work with you to make sure you feel comfortable and supported.

Timetables will be available through ‘MySCG’ App platform, details of how to access this will be shared at enrolment.

Term starts week commencing Monday 4 September.

Transport and Bursary
We have been sending information regarding Bursary applications with requests that applications should have been made by 31 July to ensure they are processed and ready for the start of term.
If you have missed this date, you can still apply but please be aware that it will take longer to process. The online bursary application process can be found here. Please follow the instructions in the email you have previously received to make your application.
